School in the past

The school in the past

The building itself was built between 1884-1886 as Gemeineschule, Wolmark. On 4th September, 1945 approximately 150 children and 12 teachers arrived at school to welcome the new school year. At the end of September, 1945 the number of students attending the school increased to 167, due to the new district division. It was the beginning of Maria Konopnicka Primary School no 3. The founder and the first headmaster was Kazimierz Slifirski- a teacher from Warsaw.
Gimnazjum no 1 came into existence on 1st September, 1999 with Bronislaw Kisiel as the first headmaster. On 16th May, 2003 the President of Poland, Aleksander Kwasniewski, paid a visit at gimnazjum to unveil the patron's Memory Board. On 30th May, 2003 during a special celebration our school was given a patron's name and has been named Robert Schuman Gimnazjum no 1 ever since.
In the future our school will continue to expand and evolve, and much will be done to enhance the conditions and learning facilities for our students and employees.
